How many FringeNYC 2006 performers can you identify?
Going from left to right...
Top row:
Daniel Arnold and Medina Hahn in my pick for best show of the festival, Tuesdays & Sundays.
A tender mating moment from the cast of The Penguin Tango: Anna Becker, John Bixler, Steve Hayes, Heath Kelts, Christian Mansfield, Brendan Maroney, Andrea Pettigrove, Eli Sands, and Chris Teutsch.
Susan Louise O'Connor, Douglas Dickerman, and John Maria in the superb Daniel MacIvor play Never Swim Alone.
Julie Klausner (sans her comedic partner Sue Galloway) of Free To Be Friends.
Middle row:
John Rubano, about to hilariously order around the three other members of his comedy troupe (Dave Lewman, Joe Liss, and Mark Nutter), in The Bicycle Men.
Billy the Mime in Billy the Mime, my pick for best one-man show of the festival.
Camera-shy comedienne/storyteller Elna Baker in If You See Something, Say Something, my pick for best one-woman show of the festival.
"Mind-reading" Torkova in his fun magic act Thought Prints.
Bottom row:
Jeff LaGreca (about to join his marvelous a cappella singing group of William Caleo, Tony Daussat, Charlie LaGreca, and Suzanne Slade) in Minimum Wage: Blue Code Ringo.
Nisi Sturgis and Karen Zippler (spending a quiet moment away from castmates Deb Heinig and Barbara Pitts) in my favorite new play of the festival, Girl Scouts of America.
Danny Thompson doing one of the funniest bits in FringeNYC history (with the help of fellow performers Greg Allen and Ben Schneider) in The Complete Lost Works of Samuel Beckett.
This last one's a total give-away: Todd Robbins, of course, in Carnival Knowledge.
