Selling out a single performance doesn't necessarily
mean a show is hot, or vice versa.
For example, a production in a small venue might sell most of
its tickets to family and friends for the debut performance but
struggle for the rest of the festival.
At the same time, a show in a large venue might consistently
sell lots of tickets but never fill all of its many seats. (Then again, it
might; for a memorable example from FringeNYC 2009, please click
here.)
For that matter, a production might not attract
the type of folks who buy in advance and yet frequently sell out performances
via at-the-door purchases. The latter aren't reported by FringeCentral
and so can't be tracked here.
That said...it's always nice to sell out a performance
in advance.
Please also note that some of the hottest shows that sell out, and are local, are likely to receive extended
runs via the FringeNYC Encore Series at Soho Playhouse. So if you miss a great show in August, you might get a second chance at it in September and/or October.
In addition, there are a slew of one-performance extensions of sold-out shows on the final day—Sunday, August 30th—via a new feature of the festival called FringeFaves. For details, please click here.
All that said, please find below the 66 FringeNYC 2015 shows that have sold out
performances via advance ticket sales, listed in alphabetical order. Dates of performances to come are in boldface. To buy tickets online for performances that haven't yet sold out, please click here. To explore any listed show's website, please click its title or photo:
